Membership
As a non-member you can read but not write any contributions on the site. In order to make full use of disabilitynet.net you need to register as a member. Click on Login/Sign up and follow the instructions.
Profile
How to edit your profile
· Go to Site members, in the left menu on the first page.
· Go to your name in the list.
· Go to edit profile.
· Fill in your profile.
· When you are done, save by clicking on the Update profile button.
How to add a picture to your profile
· Go to edit profile.
· Go to New Picture and click on browse.
· Choose the picture from your computer.
· The file name of your picture should now appear besides the browse button.
· Write a text to the picture in Picture description, so that people who are visually impaired know that there is a picture there.
· Click on Update profile to save your picture.
To come to the main page again
· Click on Disabilitynet in the top menu
Check your forum posts
· Go to your profile in Site members.
· Click on Forum posts.
· There you check all the forum posts that you have made.
Blog
You can access the Blog in two ways:
· Click on Blogs in the main menu on the front page. Click on your name. Click on Blog.
· Got to Site members and then go to your profile. Click on Blog.
Add a new Blog entry
· When you are in your blog, click on Add a new entry.
· Enter the title of your blog.
· Write your blog.
· Go to the box where it says Anyone on this site.
· Click on the arrow and three publishing options will appear:
Yourself (draft) – means that only you will be able to see your text.
Anyone on this site – means that only members on disabilitynet will be able to see your text.
Anyone in the world – means that anyone on internet will be able to see your text.
Choose your option.
· Save by clicking on the button Save changes at the bottom of the page.
· You can at any time edit or delete your blog by clicking on edit or delete in the right corner of the blog. Other people can only read your blog.
Attach a document or picture on your blog
Go to Attachment and click on browse.
Choose the document from your computer
The file name of should now appear besides the browse button.
Click on Save changes.
Forums
Add a discussion topic in the forum
· Go to the Forum of your choice on the front page.
· Click on the button Add a new discussion topic.
· Write your subject.
· Write your text.
· Go to Subscription and click on the arrow. Choose between:
Send me email copies of this forum – if you want to have email copies of all the posts to the forum, or
I don’t want email copies of this forum.
· Save by clicking on Post to forum.
Reply in the forum
· Go to the Forum of your choice on the front page.
· You will now get a list of all the people active in discussions on that forum
· Click on the discussion that you want to reply to.
Note that if you click on the name you will come to the person’s profile, not the forum discussion.
· Click on Reply.
· Scroll down and write your reply in the Message box.
· Go to Subscription and click on the arrow. Choose between:
Send me email copies of this forum – if you want to have email copies of all the posts to the forum, or
I don’t want email copies of this forum.
· Save by clicking on Post to forum.
If you change your mind…
You now have 30 minutes to edit your post before it is finally posted to the forum. Once it is posted you can neither edit or delete it. If you by some chance change your mind after 30 minutes you have to mail the webmaster.
Reading PDF-files
· If you get an empty page when attempting to view PDF documents, you may need to install a later version of Adobe Reader.
· You need to install Adobe Reader to view the PDF documents on this site. It can be downloaded from http://www.adobe.com/
