Shia is the Swedish Organisations' of Persons with Disabilities International Aid Association - a non-governmental, non-profit organisation with 27 members - Swedish organisations of persons with disabilities - actively involved in global development co-operation.

Main objective
Our main objective is to eradicate poverty and strengthen the human rights for persons with disabilities through development co-operation.
Membership
Swedish organisations of persons with disabilities can apply for membership. The Annual General Meeting, where every member organisation has the right to one vote, decides upon the membership of new members.
Funding
It is only our member organisations who can apply for funding.
Partnership
The project cooperation is based on the partnership built on the relation between one of our member organisations and a sister organisation in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America.
